Surface tension and energy conservation in a moving fluid

چکیده
The transport of energy in a moving fluid with simply connected free surface is analyzed, taking into account the contribution tension. This done by following "control volume" arbitrary, specified velocity, independent flow and determining rates passing through boundaries, as well dissipation bulk. In particular, simple conservation equation for area written down, which clearly shows Laplace pressure at tangential tension forces its boundary. It emerges mechanical law general form. For static control volume, all contributions from disappear, except that has to be modified contribution.

A New Surface Tension Model for Prediction of Interaction Energy between Components and Activity Coefficients in Binary Systems
In this work, we develop a correlative model based on the surface tension data in order to calculate thermodynamic parameters, such as interaction energy between components (Uij), activity coefficients and etc. In the new approach, by using Li et al. (LWW) model, a three-parameter surface tension equation is derived for liquid mixtures. The surface tension data of 54 aqueous and 73 non-aqueous ...
متن کاملEnergy Conservation in Building
The building sector accumulates approximately a third of the final energy consumption. Consequently, the improvement of the energy efficiency in buildings has become an essential instrument in the energy policies to ensure the energy supply in the mid to long term moreover is the most cost-effective strategy available for reducing carbon dioxide emissions This paper is studying the main objecti...
متن کاملMelting Heat Transfer and Radiation Effects on Jeffrey Fluid Flow over a Continuously Moving Surface with a Parallel Free Stream
This article is proposed to address the melting heat transfer of a Jeffrey fluid in Blasius and Sakiadis flow caused due to a moving surface. Thermal radiation and a constant free stream are considered in this mathematical model. The non-linear coupled dimensionless equations from the governing equations are attained by employing appropriate similarity transformations. The resulting dimensionle...
متن کاملFluid viscosity and the attenuation of surface waves: a derivation based on conservation of energy
More than a century ago, Stokes (1819–1903)pointed out that the attenuation of surface waves could be exploited to measure viscosity. This paper provides the link between fluid viscosity and the attenuation of surface waves by invoking the conservation of energy. First we calculate the power loss per unit area due to viscous dissipation. Next we calculate the power loss per unit area as manifes...
متن کاملSurface Tension and Surface Energy of Curved Interfaces and Membranes
In this work we develop the basic idea that the mechanical properties of a curved Gibbsian dividing surface are characterized, not only by the surface tension, but also by surface moments. It is shown that an additional surface bending moment term is to be introduced in the interfacial balance of the force moments at a spherical dividing surface. The existence of surface bending moment leads to...
